Chef's studying

The Mitchells & Butlers Chefs’ Academy

Our Chefs' Academy apprenticeship is a mixture of on-the-job training and workshops in our Manchester, Birmingham or London academies, helping to train the next generation of chefs.

You'll take on a full-time role in a business near to your home, working under the supervision of passionate chefs. From day one, you'll be creating favourite meals from our beloved brands, all whilst keeping a safe and hygienic working environment. As an added bonus, you're also guaranteed a fun, friendly atmosphere where every day is different.

You'll attend one of our academies in Watford (North London), Harborne (Birmingham) or Didsbury (Manchester) for two days each month, where you'll be taught by award-winning chefs to gain both knowledge and experience.

Through your training in business and at our workshops, you'll work towards Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship.

Once you click apply now, you will be redirected to a third party company, Lifetime Training, who hosts details of, and provides services in relation to, our apprenticeship scheme. Lifetime Training's terms and conditions

The entry requirements for chef's academy apprenticeships

  • You must at least 16 and school-leaving age, and not be in full-time education. You also need the right to work in the UK, with no criminal convictions.
  • Our apprentices need to be hard working, with a positive attitude.  We don’t expect you to have any relevant experience - you just need a passion for people and desire to learn.

For me, Chefs’ Academy has been an opportunity to work and learn at the same time, so I’m glad to be given the opportunity. Every time I visit the workshops, I learn something new and delicious. I have been learning so much in the workshops, it just gives me more and more confidence back in the kitchen!
